It's official
In 2008 F2 Motorcycles Ltd became the biggest selling Ural dealer
in Europe
Ural motorcycle and sidecar combinations offer
a unique and exciting way to tour and explore. Rugged and reliable,
the Ural is at home both on twisty, tarmac roads and more demanding
off-road tracks. With good ground clearance, reverse gear and
large carrying capacity, the Ural is a truly versatile and capable
machine both for every day use and long distance adventures. |

The Factory. The Ural
factory in Irbit, Siberia, produces two complete combinations
for the UK market - the Tourist, and the Tourist Gear-Up. Ural
do not make change for change’s sake, and the current
models are the result of around 50 years of steady development.
Some things have remained as they were 50 years ago such as
reverse gear, hand brake, integral steering damper, strong duplex
frame design, and an incredibly torquey engine. To bring the
bikes up to date, many detailed changes have taken place under
the surface of this well-proven package, including a high output
12 volt alternator, electric start, electronic ignition, CV
carburetors, unleaded valve seats, disc front brake, improved
gearbox, European seals and bearings, and new timing gears. |

F2 Motorcycles and Ural.
All Ural products supplied by us receive a comprehensive pre-delivery
inspection including a partial engine strip to check and adjust
tolerances, all exposed areas are treated with ACF50 to help
prevent rust, and the carburetors and ignition are altered to
our own specification. Every new bike is then personally test
ridden by David to ensure that it meets his exacting standards
before the tank is brimmed with fuel. This lengthy preparation
does mean that we usually have a short waiting list, but we
feel this is the only way to supply quality. |

Self Maintenance Option.
This gives customers the option of doing there own servicing
from new. The warranty remains as parts and labour. In
the event of a warranty claim customers can choose to
fit parts themselves (which will be supplied by us free
of charge), or they can bring the bike back to us and
the parts will be fitted (again parts and in this case
labour will be free of charge) throughout the warranty
period. If you choose this option remember that F2 Motorcycles
Ltd will not leave you unsupported. We are only at the
end of a phone. |

Rumours and Truth.
Anyone who knows us will know we do not usually get involved
with silly rumours, choosing to just ignore them when
we can. There is a rumour at the moment that we feel we
can not ignore. Some people are spreading a rumour that
the factory has closed and production has stopped. This
is simply not true. The factory is still very much open
and we are still receiving regular deliveries of Ural
motorcycles. Now in stock, latest specification Urals.

Sidecar Law. You can ride a motorcycle
and sidecar if you have a full motorcycle licence. If wish
to ride an outfit on L-plates, the following information
should be useful. In order to ride a motorcycle and sidecar
combination all learner motorcyclists are required to complete
a CBT course before being allowed to ride with ‘L’
plates. The combination should have a power to weight ratio
not exceeding 0.16 kW/kg. All full car licence holders,
regardless of when they passed their test, are required
to complete a CBT course before riding a combination with
‘L’ plates. |

Prices and Stock. There are a few Ural
web sites in Europe which list prices lower than ours. These
are always out of date web sites and have not been updated.
Our site is updated every time there is a change to specification
or price. We always have Urals actually in stock so you
can come and see them. We do not publish out of date prices
to try and get your interest and then change the price when
you arrive here. The price on our web site is the price
for a new specification Ural from our stock. If you see
a site offering what looks like a better deal please phone
the site owners, ask the exact "on the road" price,
ask if the bike is in stock and check the specifications
carefully. |
