Powabyke and F2 Motorcycles Ltd. We originally sold Powabyke electric cycles almost a decade ago and they were always strong, reliable and powerful compared with anything else on the market at the time. The older models were also slightly heavier that some of the competition but customers really liked the robust build quality and the reliability. The new X-byke range retains this quality by combining British design, Japanese batteries, American electric motors and German assembly. This allows powabyke to offer one of the best warranties of any electric bike of 5 year frame, and 1 year battery, electrics and motor. There are less costly electric bikes, but we do not think you will find a better value electric bike anywhere when you consider the quality, spares back up and warranty. | ||||||||||||||||

Powabyke X-byke Range. In designing the X-byke range of electrically assisted cycles Powabyke have gone to great lengths to produce and affordable lightweight bike without compromising build quality or comfort. They all use an ultra lightweight alloy frame combined with the latest Japanese Lithium batteries and low rolling resistant 700c wheels and tyres. All X-byke's use genuine Shimano quick fire gears and top quality cycle parts including gel saddle and sprung seat post. WHO CAN RIDE AN ELECTRIC BIKE.....Electric
bikes are clearly defined under two UK laws so please make sure when
you buy one that it complies with at least one of them. Put very simply,
if it has usable pedals just like a bike, weighs less than 40 kg, has
200 watts or less power and will not exceed 14 mph on the motor alone,
it is probably road legal. If it looks like a kids scooter and has no
pedals like a push bike, it's not road legal.. If it's faster and heavier
it will need to registered as a moped. Anyone of 14 years or older can
ride an electric bike on the public road or cycle path with no licence,
no insurance, and no crash helmet. Just as with normal push bikes, all
the usual road markings should be obeyed and they should not be ridden
on the pavement or anywhere else a push bike is not allowed to be ridden. |

| A few words about the mileage range of electric bikes. All electric bike manufacturers want to give the best range possible to encourage people to buy their product. We have been selling electric bikes for long enough now to take these figures with a large pinch of salt. Unlike many electric bike sellers we actually ride and test the bikes before stocking them, so the ranges quoted on this page are lower than the manufacturers' figures because they are based on the real world with real people riding them. Manufacturers' figures are usually quoted based on a fit, light person pedaling on a smooth indoor bike track with no wind and no hills. The figures we quote are for a normal person giving some pedal assistance, on normal roads with hills and an averagely windy day. We have seen manufacturers' figures as high as 36 miles for bikes that will only really do 18 miles under our tests. |
